A SOCIAL/INSPIRATIONAL/MUSICAL EVENT............... CELEBRATING WOMEN
"Celebration of Women" will be the theme of the upcoming Spring Extravagnza at Hyatt,Dearborn on 6th may 2012.This event will be a social event where one can meet old friends,chat with them,enjoy music performances by two very talented local artists,listen to an inspirational speech by famous Bollywood Actress ,fashion designer and social worker Somy Ali.Ladies would enjoy delicious lunch while enjoying the show,they will also get a chance to shop for beautiful dresses and jewelery from Pakistan.
"Celebration of Women" will focus on love,respect and appreciation towards women and especially immigrant women who have played a significant role in the society and economy.These women have craved a special niche for themselves in this country after coming from a totally different culture.According to a latest survey the immigrant women start business at higher rates than American born women.
"Brilliant Women" is a company started by Maria Ushakova which is working towards empowering immigrant women."Zaman International" is a local organization which through the help of it's many female volunteers and staff is helping the underprivledged in the community.They have created Bayat el Zahra through which they have branched out several humantarian missions.
Somy Ali our speaker is an actress,model,designer and social worker who has worked in Bollywood movies ,has her own clothing line named 'So-Me Designs' and she also started a non profit organization named 'No more Tears' to help female victims of abuse and violence.
I along with my friends Soobia and Reema thought about organizing such an event mainly to create an afternoon of relaxation and enjoyment but also to celebrate the legacy of immigrant women within our community.We have arranged several other fashion shows in the past with exhibition/sale of designer outfits .This event "Spring Extravagnza" will also has exhibition/sale of beautiful outfits and jewelery after the show.
